In this episode, the Israelites try and use God to help them win their battles against the Philistines, even though they had sin in their hearts and were not worshiping Him as they should. God is a loving God, but He is also a God to be reverenced. Sin keeps us from God. God made a way through His Son, Jesus, to forgive us of our sins and bring us into right relationship with Him.
