The Passover was a very important moment in Israelite history. Not only did God protect the Israelites and their families from harm, He delivered them from slavery. The Passover is also an important event for Christians as it points to the redeeming work of the blood that Jesus shed on the cross for our sins. His blood covers us and redeems us so that we can be in right relationship with our heavenly father.
