1 Kings 19.
God met Elijah in the midst of his despair. Elijah had become very discouraged. He looked around, and it seemed that no one else in the land was following Yahweh or worshiping Him. This discouraged Elijah because of His great faith and love for the Lord. Have you ever felt discouraged? The good news is that God saw Elijah, and God came to him and found him when he was discouraged. God showed Elijah that He was always with him, speaking to him gently in a still small voice. If men like Elijah are going to feel depressed at times, so will we. But the most important thing we can do when we are feeling sad or discouraged, is to spend time with God. It was there in the cave, away from all distractions, that he heard God speak to him.
