2 Chronicles 24.
king Joash understood the value of worship, and to worship Yahweh, meant the need for a temple that reflected the glory of Yahweh. The temple had been looted and left to disrepair under previous kings who did not value the worship of the One, True and Living God. When Joash called the people to give, they gave gladly, with their whole hearts, to see the temple of their Lord repaired. Today we have a choice to give gladly just as the Israelites did. God is a giving God, and so we give because He first gave for us.
