2 Kings 2. Elijah’s time had come. Elisha now asked for a “double portion” of the Spirit of God that rested upon Elijah. Elisha knew that he could not face the culture of his day without God’s power and presence. So, it is true of us as well. In a culture filled with confusion, we are the bearers of truth. We need God’s Spirit to anoint, encourage and give us wisdom to encounter to be a light in the darkness around us.
